CAIRO – 31 October 2017: Members of the public prosecution on Tuesday made surprise visits to 25 prisons nationwide to make sure human rights are protected within the framework of law and the constitution.

In a statement, the public prosecution authority said the surprise check was carried out under direct orders from Prosecutor General Ahmed Sadeq.

The statement noted that another inspection campaign had been carried out by the public prosecutors in March.

According to the public prosecutor’s orders, continued routine visits would be paid to all prisons and police detentions nationwide.
