Iran to open border with the Kurdish region in Iraq within days

Iran will open its border with the Kurdistan region of Iraq within next days after its closure following the Kurdish referendum last month, the Iranian armed forces chief of staff Mohammad Bagheri said according to Reuters.

Baqeri was also cited by ISNA news agency on Monday saying, if the Kurdistan region implemented its plan for separation it would result in Iraqi bloodshed and will affect neighboring countries.

On other hand, Kurdistan's president said on Sunday he would resign after the independence referendum he championed triggered military and economic retaliation by the Iraqi government.

Kuwait prime minister offers resignation

Kuwait's Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Mubarak al-Sabah, offered the resignation of his government on Monday, Al Arabiya TV reported.

The announcement comes after several deputies of the National Assembly requested the questioning of one of the ministers on allegations of misconduct.

Kuwaiti Emir, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah accepted the resignation of the government and assigned new ministers.

Saudi Arabia to let women enter sports stadiums in 2018

Saudi Arabia will allow women to attend sports events for the first time in three selected stadiums from early next year, the General Sports Authority said in a statement.

Last month Saudi Arabia announced that, from June, women would be allowed to drive cars, ending the world’s only ban on female driving.

Crown prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 reform program aims to open up Saudis Arabia’s cloistered lifestyles, shaped in part by a strict, conservative version of Sunni Islam that limits the role of women, and diversify the economy away from oil.

Boko Haram kills at least 10 in Cameroon village

Boko Haram militants killed at least 10 people in northern Cameroon on Sunday night, local officials said; affirming it was revenge for attacks carried out by Cameroon's army.

The Boko Haram group has been waging suicide bombings and attacks on the northernmost region of Cameroon for eight years.

Army sources added that the attack seems to be in retaliation for an army attack on one of their villages.
