1.4m hepatitis C patients treated through Tahya Misr Fund

CAIRO – 30 October 2017: A total of 1.4 million Egyptian patients of hepatitis C virus have been treated through the Tahya Misr Fund, the fund’s executive director, Mohamed Ashmawy, said on Sunday.

Ashmawy said on a phone interview with TV show Al-Hayat Al-Youm that Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi called for the treatment of one million patients from virus C when he took office.

Egypt has the largest research base in the world, registered by about 1.4 million patients who have been recovered. The country moved from the epidemic stage to the research one.
