LONDON - 29 October 2017: The Syrian regime forces controlled over new districts in Deir Ez-zour in western Syria, after fierce clashes against Daesh, leaving 73 fighters from the both sides dead over the past 24 hours, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Sunday.
Head of London-based observatory Rami Abdul Rahman said that the regime forces controlled over two districts, killing 50 Daesh militants and 23 regime fighters.
Abdul Rahman described the clashes as the most violent ever since the dismantling of the regime forces' siege of the city, pointing out that the Syrian troops currently dominate most of Deir Ez-zour.
