CAIRO – 29 October 2017: In an interview with the American channel of CBS News, Qatar’s emir said that any military act against his country by the Arab anti-terrorism quartet would end up in chaos.
Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani claimed in his interview that will be broadcast on 60 Minutes, Sunday, October 29, that the boycott quartet (Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain) has demanded him to shut down the Qatari-based channel of Al Jazeera, a demand that has been repeatedly dismissed by the quartet.
Tamim told his host, Charlie Rose, that U.S. President Donald Trump has offered to broker negotiations between Qatar and its neighbors at Camp David to end the five-month blockade imposed by the Arab Quartet during their meeting in New York in September, and yet no country has responded to this initiative.
Regarding the relations with Iran and terrorist groups, the emir told Rose in the trailer, "Iran is our neighbor … we have lots of differences and foreign policies with Iran.”
