CAIRO – 26 October 2017: Parliament speaker Ali Abdel Aal is heading to the United States of America along with a delegation of parliamentarians for a six-day visit that will entail holding several meetings with American officials.

Abdel Aal will be accompanied with parliamentarians, Ahmed Saad, Mohamed al Swedi, Tarek Radwan, Hussien Essa, Marian Azar, Kareem Darwesh, Mohamed al Salab and Amr Sedqi.

Several meetings will be taking place during the visit between the Egyptian Member of Parliament and the American Chamber of Commerce, the Middle East Strategic Institute, some of the Congress’s members, and House of Representatives speaker Paul Ryan.

During these meetings, several topics are expected to be discussed including the latest economic reform measures taken by the Egyptian government, the new investment law, and the major challenges Egypt is facing on all levels.

This visit is considered to be the first visit for the Egyptian parliament speaker since 2008.

Last May, the Egyptian parliamentary delegation arrived in Tokyo for another 6-day visit upon an invitation from the Japanese parliament, which is considered the first in 23 years.

Egyptian parliament speaker Ali Abdel-Aal and his delegation met with Japan’s prime minister and the heads of the two chambers of the National Diet of Japan (parliament), as well as attended a general meeting of the parliament.

The delegation also met with the governor of Tokyo, the head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, and members of the Egyptian-Japanese Business Council.
