WASHINGTON – 25 October 2017: Former and current US officials stressed the importance of holding Qatar accountable for its support of terrorism and chaos in the world as well as its cooperation with Iran, Al Arabiya Al Hadath channel reported Wednesday.

In a seminar entitled “Countering Violent Extremism: Qatar, Iran, and the Muslim Brotherhood.”, which was organized by Hudson Institute, former US President Donald Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon called on supporting Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain, which cut off relations with Qatar.

Bannon said that what Qatar is doing is no less serious than what happens in North Korea, as Qatar has to be held accountable for its actions, including financial and media sponsorship of terrorism and extremists.

In the same respect, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in the Congress Ed Royce said that Qatar failed over the past years to keep its promises to stop chaos and unrest, considering the Qatari promises are currently tactics without backing off supporting terrorism in the region.
