CAIRO – 25 October 2017: Thailand is preparing to burn the body of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, according to Buddhist funerary traditions, in the shrine which was designed in Bangkok one year after his death, Financial Times reported.

A large march gathered to take a farewell look at the late king of Thailand and rain did not prevent them from attending the funeral.

Authorities set up a specially designed platform to burn the king's body made up of gold-painted towers near the Grand Palace, where foreign tourists flocked to watch.

In October 13, 2016, Adulyadej died at 88 years old, causing a wave of grief in the country.
