Concerning the terrorist attacks Egypt and France have been suffering from during the past few years, Morin-Desailly said; “Terrorism causes us to live in a state of emergency, but this should not affect individuals’ freedoms.”

In a joint press conference attended by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday during Sisi’s three-day visit to France, Macron stated, “France is standing by Egypt because the security of this friendly country is also our own security.”
