PARIS, France – 24 October 2017: The Egyptian Navy is considered the second largest user of French Naval Group’s military products, said President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi during his meeting with the group’s CEO Hervé Guillou Tuesday.
Sisi praised cooperation between Egypt and the French group, especially as both sides have signed contracts to buy a number of marine parts from the company, the presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef clarified.
He further noted that such cooperation will be a pivotal addition to the development and modernization of the Egyptian naval forces fleet.
For his part, Naval Group CEO Guillou expressed his delight with the meeting; ensuring his company’s keenness to develop cooperation with Egypt, as one of the group’s most important partners in the world.
Guillou also praised the Egyptian Navy personnel’s high performance, which enabled them to train and operate marine units produced by his company in a record time and with high efficiency.
Earlier, Sisi met with Hervé Guillou the head of the Naval Group, a French industrial group specialized in naval defense and marine renewable energy. He also met with the Chairman of France’s national state-owned railway company Guillaume Pepy.
The meeting comes as part of President Sisi’s agenda Tuesday, which includes the official reception and meetings with high level French officials, atop of which is his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
Sisi’s official reception at the Elysee Palace will take place, and will be followed by bilateral talks between him and Macron.
Both leaders are set to witness the signing of 17 cooperation agreements between both countries.
