CAIRO – 20 October 2017: The Egyptian community in France is planning a popular reception for President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi upon arriving in Paris to meet with French President Emannuel Macron.
The Sisi-Macron summit is scheduled to take place on October 22. This would be the first one-on-one meeting between the two presidents since both assumed office in their respective countries. The summit aims at boosting bilateral relations between the two countries across various fields and promoting joint trade and economic cooperation, as well as ways to share their views towards a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
Under the framework of the growing Egyptian-French relations, both presidents will expectedly discuss ways of fighting terrorism and means of combating extremist ideology, which is not in line with the essence of Islam.
France is home to the largest Egyptian community in Europe.
