CAIRO – 19 October 2017: Parliamentarian Mustafa Bakri described the reaction of Kuwait's parliament speaker, Marzouq al-Ghanim, towards the Israeli delegation during the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Wednesday as a “national stance.”
He added in statements to Egypt Today that Ghanim was not expressing his own personal opinion when he criticized the Israeli delegation, but the whole Arab nations’.
“Ghanim’s reaction towards the Israeli delegation comes as a response for the arbitrary measures taken against Palestinians,” Bakri added.
During the Inter-Parliamentary Union meetings held Wednesday in Russia, Marzouq al-Ghanim, Kuwait's parliament speaker, expelled the Israeli delegation from the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
In his speech, Ghanim shouted at the Israeli delegation calling them “occupiers and child killers” as a reply to their claims concerning Palestinian prisoners detained in Israeli prisons.

He addressed the head of the Israeli delegation: "You occupier, you must carry your bags and get out of the hall after seeing the reactions of the parliaments of the world. Get out of the hall if you have any dignity.”
Several officials, ministers and politicians welcomed Ghanim warmly after his return to Kuwait. Also, social media users started describing his speech as “honoring” Arab countries.
