Parliament’s Human Rights delegation visits Borg El-Arab prisons

CAIRO – 15 October 2017: Parliament’s Human Rights Committee Delegation embarked on a surprise visit on Sunday to the prisons in Borg El-Arab district, Alexandria to make sure that human rights standards are being implemented.

The Parliament’s delegation inspected prisons cells, hospital, workshops for carpentry activities, and literacy classes.

During the visit, prisoners told delegation members that they are being fully cared for and they are being taught new handicrafts by the prison administration as a source of livelihood after their release.
