9.5 million citizens support Sisi for new presidential term

CAIRO – 11 October 2017: Head of Woman Committee in the Egyptian Trade Union, Maisa Atwa, said that there are 9.5 million Egyptians demanding there be an application for president allegiance; supporting President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi for a new presidential term.

She added that "Nation Love Coalition" joined the public campaign “To Build It,” participating in joint teamwork to spread the campaign all over the country.

“’Alashan Tebneeha” or (To Build It) is a public campaign that kicked off in September, demanding that President Sisi run for a second presidential term. The campaign went viral on Twitter, as its #حملة_علشان_تبنيها hashtag amassed at least 60,000 tweets.

Launched last month, the campaign affirmed that it does not follow any political party or governmental entity.

Sisi is the sixth president of Egypt. He assumed office in June 2014 after the June 30 revolution, which toppled former President Mohamed Morsi who is affiliated with the now-banned Muslim Brotherhood.
