CAIRO - 11 October 2017: Head of the parliament's Human Rights Committee Alaa Abed called Tuesday for taking to court every organization that opposed the nomination of Moshira Khattab to UNESCO's chief post.
In a statement, the lawmaker expressed regret over calls made by some “suspicious” organizations against Khattab.
He termed these organizations ‘unpatriotic’, saying they made this call despite African and Gulf consensus. He said these organizations are as dangerous as “Human Rights Watch (HRW)”.
Khattab’s victory is success for Egypt, he said, adding her position on top of the UN organization will enhance educational and child support in Egypt.
