CAIRO – 8 September 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi conducted a phone call on Sunday with his Nigerian counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari, in which they discussed Egyptian-Nigerian relations regional and international issues of mutual concerns.

Sisi expressed Egypt’s keenness to intensify consultation with the Nigerian President on various African issues of common concern.

For his part, Buhari stressed his country's pride in the strong relations with Egypt and its keenness to strengthen relations between the two countries at all levels.

Buhari also stressed Nigeria's interest in activating the existing cooperation praising the level of coordination and consultation between the two countries.

During the phone call, the two parties discussed the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.

They also discussed the latest developments on a number of African issues and ways to strengthen the continent's standing in international forums, and stressed the importance of solidarity of all the continent’s countries to defend African issues and interests.
