Video: Army releases old press statement from 1973 war

CAIRO – 6 October 2017: The military spokesperson of the Egyptian Armed Forces, colonel Tamer Al-Rifai, published on his Facebook page on Friday, a video of an old press statement that was issued by the Egyptian Armed Forces during the war of 1973.

The statement which was broadcasted from Cairo during the 1973 war said, “We received now from the general command of the Armed Forces statement number two... Replying to the enemy’s treacherous aggression against our forces, some of our air troops are targeting the enemy’s military bases in the occupied territories.”



October 6 marks the 44th anniversary of the victory in the 1973 war that occurred against Israel, where the Egyptian army managed to recapture Egyptian occupied territories and to restore the national pride.
