Defense Committee to submit letter endorsing Sisi for another term

CAIRO – 5 October 2017: Members of the National Defense and Security Parliamentarian Committee announced in their first meeting that they will send a letter of endorsement supporting President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in running for a second presidential term.

"We congratulate President Sisi and support him from all our hearts with genuine conviction in the upcoming presidential elections," Amer said in remarks to parliamentary editors.

He added that the members of the committee are support the president’s current internal and foreign policies, and the steps he has undertaken in order to build a modern democratic Egypt.

Sisi issued a decree to call on the House of Representatives to convene on Monday, October 2, for the parliament’s third consecutive round as part of its first legislative session.
