CAIRO – 5 October 2017: Twenty-five projects of housing, roads, water, and sanitation will be inaugurated during the celebrations of the October 6 war, announced Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development Mostafa Madbouly Thursday, in a statement to Al-Ahram gate.
The minister said that there are 9,971 housing units in the social housing project that were built in five governorates: Cairo, Al-Minya, Sohag, Al-Sharqia, and Al-Gharbia.
He added that there are 10 projects of water and sanitation completed in Aswan, Al-Beheira, Al-Dakahlia, Red Sea, Al-Gharbia, Cairo, Al-Sharqia and Al-Minya.
Other projects undertaken include a two-road project in Matruh governorate, a 90-kilometer West Matrouh road project (Barany/Saloum), and an Abu-Sharuf connection; in addition to a 40-km road that connects the Siwa Oasis with Matruh, Al-Garra and Al-Wahat al-Baharia.
Madbouly mentioned also that the ministry has executed the International Nile School project in Al-Sadat City in Cairo.
Additionally, the ministry has finished 50 Bedouin housing units in Al-Qantara Sharq in Ismailia governorate, adding to the integrated development project that targets providing five Bedouin communities in South and North Sinai with better housing conditions, the statement added.
Finally, the minister expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Egyptian army who emerged victorious from the October 6 war between Egypt and Israel, and congratulated all Egyptians on the 44th anniversary of the war.
