CAIRO – 3 October 2017: “We hope Hamas assists the Consensus Government formed in 2014, empowering it to perform its duties in the Gaza Strip as efficient as it does in the West Bank,” Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas told journalists and reporters in Ramallah on Tuesday.
Abbas revealed that Hamas has accepted to cooperate with the Consensus Government, after dissolving the administrative committee in Gaza.
“New presidential, legislative and national council’s elections will take place so that all Palestinian officials will be working legally and legitimately upon coordination with Hamas,” Abbas added.
