Abul Gheit welcomes Palestinian national reconciliation

CAIRO - 3 October 2017: Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit on Monday welcomed steps taken by the Palestinians toward national reconciliation which led up to the arrival of the head of the Palestinian reconciliation government to the Gaza Strip.

The Arab top diplomat wished that Palestinians would seize the opportunity to engage in genuine reconciliation that will ease the enormous burden of the citizens of the occupied territories, spokesman for AL chief Mahmoud Afifi said in statements.

Abul Gheit praised the key role played by Egypt to reach the reconciliation, the spokesman noted.
