Car bomb destroyed before hitting security checkpoint in Arish

ARISH - 1 October 2017: Security forces on Sunday managed to destroy a car bomb before hitting a security checkpoint south of Arish, North Sinai, security sources said.

The car bomb was monitored while attempting to attack a checkpoint on the Ring Road south of Arish, the sources added.

The troops intercepted the booby-trapped car, preventing it from reaching the checkpoint by opening heavy fire on it, the sources said.

No casualties were reported among security personnel, the sources added.
