French amb. praises Egypt's Mideast role

ALEXANDRIA - 2 October 2017: French Ambassador to Egypt Stefan Roumtier praised on Sunday the leading role played by Egypt in the Middle East region.

Egypt restored its political and diplomatic role as an important player at the international arena, Roumtier told MENA.

He also lauded efforts exerted by Cairo to solve the Palestinian and Libyan issues, saying that Egypt and France have a common desire to restore stability in Libya.

Egypt should take part in the military agreement aimed at reducing tension in Syria, Roumtier noted, stressing that the recent economic decisions taken by the Egyptian government would lure investors to pump investments into Egypt.

The diplomat said he will visit Alexandria next month to take part in meetings between Egyptian and French businessmen.
