CAIRO – 28 September 2017: The campaign of supporting Ambassador Moushira Khattab at UNESCO will hold a press conference next Saturday at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to support Khattab for the UNESCO director-general post.
The campaign will be attended by its campaign manager Ambassador Mohamed Orabi, Major General Tariq al-Mahdi, Dr. Zahi Hawass, head of the Front of Identity Hossam Eissa, and a number of members of the House of Representatives.
The supporting Ambassador Moushira Khattab at UNESCO held on Tuesday a supporting campaign in cooperation with State Information Service, in attendance of a large number of Arab and foreign media sources.
This campaign aims at introducing Ambassador Moushira Khattab to foreign and local media and answers any questions about the campaign.
Khattab is an Egyptian diplomat, who has led a long and distinguished career as a human rights activist. Serving in Egypt’s diplomatic missions in Australia, Hungary, Austria and the United Nations (New York and Vienna), she is a human rights activist advocating the rights of children and women, and functioning as former Chair of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child based at the UN Headquarters in Geneva.
Khattab was minister of Family and Population in 2011. She also served as Egypt’s ambassador to South Africa, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
UNESCO is the United Nations organization responsible for coordinating international cooperation in education, science, culture and communication.
