AUC to host blended learning panel

CAIRO - 27 September 2017: The American University in Cairo (AUC) is holding a panel discussion on blended learning on Thursday, featuring Minister of Education and Technical Training Tarek Shawki, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)’s associate dean of digital learning Vijay Kumar and Maysa Jalbout, CEO of Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education.

The panel entitled “Blended Education in Egypt: Opportunities and Challenges" will discuss the opportunities of blended learning in Egypt and the selection of AUC to offer blended learning courses in partnership with MIT, and funded by Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education.

The discussion will also highlight the challenges facing this kind of education in Egypt and the Middle East, according to a press release.

Moderated by AUC provost Ehab Abdel Rahman, the panel is set to take place between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in Mohamed Shafik Gabr Hall at AUC, New Cairo campus, in partnership with Egypt Today Magazine as an official media sponsor.

The panel will be attended by ministers, educational foundations and NGOs, businessmen and interested public; and simultaneous translation will be available.

Dress code is business attire. The event is open to the public and no registration is required.
