WASHINGTON - 27 September 2017: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said on Tuesday it has granted Puerto Rico a temporary waiver allowing it to burn high sulfur diesel in generators used for emergency purposes as the island recovers from Hurricane Maria.
The EPA said the waiver that allows the burning of fuel that pollutes more would last through Oct. 15.
