CAIRO – 25 September 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi arrived in Dubai on Monday and met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates for two days.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said that Mohamed bin Rashid stressed on the critical, strong ties between the two countries and said that the UAE is keen on strengthening cooperation with Egypt to achieve regional stability and the values of peace and tolerance, rather than extremism and hate.
Mohamed bin Rashid praised the Egyptian efforts and Egypt’s national role with regard to Arab national security and protecting Arab interests. The meeting discussed bilateral relations and the means of enhancing mutual collaboration in various fields. They also reviewed a number of issues of mutual concern. The two countries agreed on the need to fight terrorism and stop its funding and political and media coverage.
Sisi praised the economic and social progress the UAE has achieved over the past years, which made Dubai a good model for sustainable development. He also praised the UAE’s permanent support for the will of the Egyptian people.
The meeting was attended by a number of Emirati ministers and high-level officials, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
"The UAE has topped the list of investing countries in Egypt, as they are currently investing a total value of $6.2 billion in 868 projects in the sectors of communications, banking, real estate development and tourism," Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Tarek Kabil said Monday.
