CAIRO – 25 September 2017: The United Arab Emirates stands firmly with Egypt while fighting terrorism and seeking to enhance cooperation with Egypt in different common international and regional issues, stressed the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE armed forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, during his meeting with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

After his arrival to the UAE, Sisi held bilateral talks. He expressed his pleasure to visit Abu Dhabi and asked to transfer his greetings to UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef.

He stressed the strategic cooperation between the two countries, praising the role of the UAE in promoting joint Arab action, and further stressed Egypt’s care in furthering bilateral relations in different fields.

Nahyan confirmed during the meeting that Egypt is the cornerstone for the stability and security of Arab countries, highlighting deep friendly relations between the two nations.

The meeting also tackled the crisis in the Middle East and the efforts exerted by Arab countries in solving them and enabling its national institutions to resume their responsibility of combating terrorism. In particular, the meeting dealt with funding terrorism and the preservation of national security.

Both sides at the end of the talks confirmed the importance of standing against interference in Arab affairs and intensifying their efforts in facing unprecedented challenges that destabilize the Arab region.

Sisi left on Monday for the United Arab Emirates on a two-day official visit.

During his visit, the president is scheduled to discuss with UAE leaders the promoting of deeply-rooted ties between the two countries, as well as, consultations and coordination on a host of regional and international issues of mutual interest, Youssef said in statements.

The president's visit to Abu Dhabi comes within the framework of distinguished ties between the two countries at all levels, the spokesman added.
