Egypt's new ambassador to Italy Hisham Badr - Press photo
CAIRO – 24 September 2017: Newly appointed Egyptian Ambassador in Rome Hisham Badr submitted his credentials to Italian President Sergio Mattarella Sunday.
Badr conveyed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's best regards to Mattarella, a statement by the Foreign Ministry here said.
The diplomat stressed Sisi's keenness on boosting relations between the Egyptian and Italian peoples.
Cairo is looking forward to enhancing political and economic ties with Rome, Badr told Mattarella.
He assured the Italian president that Egypt is committed to cooperation with Italy to unveil the truth behind the killing of Italian student Giulio Regeni, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Badr also expressed Egypt's keenness on boosting cooperation in the illegal immigration combat.
