CAIRO – 24 September 2017: Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Abdel Mon'em el Bana on Sunday directed three deputies to draw up a plan for developing the Giza Zoo in coordination with several bodies concerned.
The plan aims to revamp the whole park in order to restore its well-known historical status to become a magnet for Egyptian visitors and tourists, the minister asserted.
The proposed blueprint includes the development of the park's walls, ticket outlets, entry gates and animal shelters, in addition to increasing green spaces, upgrading passages and installing a lighting system, the minister said.
A board of trustees comprising all ministries and bodies concerned and public figures, as well as non-governmental organizations will be formed to follow up the development works at the zoo, he added.
