CAIRO - 18 September 2017: A Cairo Court acquitted Irishman Egyptian Ibrahim Halawa and his three sisters Monday of all charges they faced in Egypt.

His sisters (Somya, Fatima, and Omayma) were tried in absentia. T

Halawa, 21,and his sisters were arrested on Aug. 17, 2013 when they participated in a sit-in at the mosque following the dispersal of pro-Muslim Brotherhood in Rabaa and Nahda squares on August 2013.

Halawa was He and other 493 others, allegedly belonging to the banned Muslim Brotherhood, have been tried on charges of murder and attempted murder in incidents of Al-Fath Mosque.

Clashed outside the Al-Fath mosque, which took place outside downtown Cairo’s Ramses Square on Aug. 17, 2013, killed 44 people and injured 59, including 22 members of security forces.
