UNICEF dedicates ‎€ 10M for supporting education: NCCM

CAIRO - 18 Sep 2017: The grant of the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) to the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM) has increased by Euros 10 million, Deputy Minister of Health and Head of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM) Maissa Shawky said on Monday.

The UN grant aims at supporting the files of education and juveniles at risk, Shawky added.

The deputy health minister made the remarks during a meeting with senior employees of the NCCM to review the achievements and efforts of the council in the period between January 2016 and August 2017.

The strategy of the NCCM for 2017-2021 has been finalized, Shawky said, adding that the health minister has been notified to launch a national conference under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Prime Minister Sherif Ismail.

The council has finalized a national five-year plan for childhood and motherhood in Egypt in the period between 2017 and 2021, the head of the NCCm said.
