CAIRO – 15 September 2017: Many Qatari people expressed their rage at the ruling regime’s policies via Twitter’s trending hashtag “I’m Qatari and represented by the opposition.”

The trending hashtag in Qatar reflects the anger that Qataris feel amid the spread of foreign troops in Doha and other Qatari cities, amid a crisis with four Arab countries since June 5.

One of the tweets says “Qatari opposition cares for citizens’ interests, while the governments cares only for Azmi Beshara, Persians and Erdogan.”

Another tweet addressing Qatar’s emir says “Why do you appoint Qaradawi, Azmi, Rahimi, etc? Qataris are more deserving. Do you not have faith in your people? Why do you summon Persians and Turks against your people?”

Another tweet criticized the Qatari procedures that grants citizenship to foreigners, saying, “Honorable Qatari men, do not accept the detention on charges of pilgrimage and withdrawing citizenship in favor of granting it to foreigners.”
