Pope Tawadros arrives in Cairo after foreign tour

CAIRO - 14 September 2017: Coptic Pope Tawadros II arrived in Cairo on Thursday wrapping up a three-week foreign tour which took him to Japan and Australia.

During the tour, the pope opened the first Coptic church in Japan.

The Pope met with Copts living in these countries as well as a number of officials during the tour.

This was Tawadros' first visit to the two countries since becoming pope in 2012.
