CAIRO – 14 August 2017: Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt. General Mahmoud Hegazy met with Minister of Defense Tomohiro Yamamoto on Thursday in Cairo.
The meeting was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Takehiro Kagawa and many leaders of the Armed forces.
During the meeting, the two parties reviewed the conditions in the Middle East and its reflections on regional and international levels.
They discussed a number of issues that aimed at supporting the means of cooperation and military relations between the two countries in light of the recent visit of the Armed Forces Chief to Tokyo.
Hegazy hailed the historic relations between the two countries, and expressed his hopes to expand the prospects of partnership and cooperation in the military and technical fields to support efforts to address the challenges that threaten the security and stability of the region.
On the other hand, Yamamoto asserted that Egypt and Japan have the same prospects on dealing with many files and topics that challenge the efforts of international peace and security, pointing out his country's keenness to increase bilateral cooperation in the various defense fields.
