Italian ambassador arrives to Cairo after one-year withdrawal

CAIRO - 13 September 2017: New Italian Ambassador to Egypt Giampaolo Cantini was received by officials in Cairo International Airport on Wednesday evening to assume his post after presenting his credentials to President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

Last month Italy decided to send ambassador Giampaolo Cantini to Cairo, citing progress in cooperation in the investigation of the 2016 murder of the Italian post-graduate student in Egypt.
