CAIRO – 13 September 2017: Cairo International Airport Customs arrested a passenger while attempting to smuggle €150, 000 ($179,578.50) from Paris on Wednesday, violating the Central Bank’s law number 88 of the year 2003 that allows passengers to have only $10,000 or its equivalent in other currencies while travelling.
While implementing the customs measures on a flight coming from Paris, the money intended to be smuggled was found in the passenger’s bag, according to the sources from the airport customs; adding that this amount of money was confiscated after drafting a report of the incident to the passenger.
