CAIRO, Sept 12 2017: British Ambassador in Cairo Johan Casson met on Tuesday with 61 Egyptians who won the fully-funded Chevening scholarship before they head for the UK to obtain a one-year Master’s degree.
The Egyptian students, of whom 34 are girls, will study a number of fields, such as public health, law, media, education, development, financial affairs, entrepreneurship and economics, Casson said.
The Chevening has become the largest scholarship program, as it helped the most prominent Egyptian graduates to study in the best universities in the UK, Casson added.
The UK has allowed further 450 students to apply for the scholarship, through doubling its finance for the program, Casson asserted.
Chevening is the UK government's global scholarship program that offers future leaders the unique opportunity to study in the UK.
These scholarships are awarded to outstanding professionals from different countries to pursue a one-year master’s degree in any subject at any UK university.
