Decentralization tool to improve performance: Planning min.

CAIRO - 12 September 2017: Planning Minister Hala el Saeid said Tuesday that decentralization is only a tool to improve the performance of local institutions.

Addressing a conference on local administration, Saeid said good governance is a proactive precautionary mechanism against corruption.

Good governance also helps boost State competitiveness and improve the performance of institutions, she added.

Development should also be achieved through a more efficient management of economic and social resources, the minister said.

Saeid also touched upon efforts to achieve legislative reform at the administrative authority.
