CAIRO – 10 September 2017: The ministerial meeting for the Arab-Japanese Political Dialogue to be held on Monday at the Arab League’s secretariat general in Cairo, the Arab League (AL) statement said on Sunday.

Arab foreign ministers will meet with their Japanese counterpart Tarō Kōno who has started his Middle East tour on Saturday by visiting Doha.

Kono’s tour includes quick visits to Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Egypt as a final destination in his six-day tour to the Middle East region, Japanese sources told Egypt Today.

On Monday, the first "Japan Arab Political Dialogue" will launch to promote cooperation for stability and prosperity in the Middle East region.

A joint press conference between Japan’s foreign minister, his Algerian counterpart and the Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit is due on Monday evening to answer the Arab and foreign media questions about the recent political developments in the region.

In February 2016, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi visited Tokyo where he met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and delivered a speech at the Japanese parliament.
