UNITED STATES - September 2017: The core of Hurricane Jose will move away from the northern Leeward Islands in the Caribbean Sea on Saturday night and should begin gradually weakening on Sunday, the National Hurricane Center said.
At 5 p.m. EDT (2100 GMT) Jose was about 85 miles (135 km) north-northwest of the northern Leeward Islands with maximum sustained winds of 145 miles per hour (230 kilometers per hour).
The center said little change in the storm's intensity was expected overnight.
