Foreign archaeological expeditions start in Fayyoum

FAYYOUM - 10 September 2017: Foreign archaeological teams from US, France, Germany and Italy started Saturday to work in ancient sites in Fayyoum, said the head of the archaeological department in the governorate Sayed el Shoura.

A French-Italian mission will continue work for the 30th year in Tell Umm el-Baragat (Tebtunis) village in Atsa, said Shoura.

German archaeologists also resumed work for the fifth year in Watfa area, he noted.

Last week, an American-Dutch team concluded an archaeological duty in Kom Oshim, said the official.
