TRIPOLI - 8 September 2017: UN Secretary General's special envoy for Libya Ghassan Salama on Sunday will take part in an African Union Summit meeting on Libya, a Libyan well-placed source said on Friday.
The meeting will be held in Congo's capital Brazzaville and will be attended also by head of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez al Sarraj, representative for Commander in Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces Khalifa Haftar, Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Aqilah Saleh and President of the Libya's High Council of State Abdulrahman Suweihli.
The national dialogue committee formed through emergence of the house of representatives and state council is scheduled to hold a meeting during summit, Alwasat News reported, quoting a Libyan source as saying.
This is the third meeting of the African Union(AU) to be held on Libya.
The committee, which comprises nine countries: Niger, Mauritania, the Republic of Congo, South Africa, Sudan, Chad, Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia is chaired by Congo’s Denis Sassou N’Guesso.
The last meeting was held in Brazzaville in January.
