CAIRO - 05 September 2017: The Suez prosecution confiscated forged maps and 3D models related to the location of Halaib and Shalatin that were seized at Sokhna Port.

In coordination with the General Administration of the Suez Canal Authority, officers of the Suez Canal Investigation Department foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities

The maps show the Halaib and Shalateen triangle as taken and annexed to the borders of northern Sudan. The cargo was seized and reported to the concerned authorities.

Earlier, Major General Mohamed El-Kaffas, head of Suez Ports Investigation, received information stating that an import and export company had brought forged maps of the southern border of Egypt and hid it inside a container comprised of decoration materials.

Assistant Interior Minister for Ports Major Generals Saeed Shalaby and Director General of the Suez Canal Corporation Sayed Azab were informed of the information, and accordingly a search team was formed to control the container.
