Plan to launch observatory to face terrorist groups

CAIRO - 2 September 2017: Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Goma lauded on Saturday the National Press Authority's plan to launch an observatory to stand against lies and rumors spread by terrorist groups to topple the State.

In a statement, the minister called on research centers and national press institutions to set up a "credibility index" to measure the credibility of each newspaper, website and program and the authenticity of published news.

One of the serious challenges facing the Egyptian State at present is the spread of lies and rumors and attempts to tarnish the image of national symbols and picture any accomplishment being realized in the country as a failed project, he said.
