CAIRO – 1 September 2017: Barcelona’s new signing Ousmane Dembele revealed that watching the Narcos series helps him learn Spanish to be able to adapt with his new teammates in Spain.
"I still know very little Spanish; I can say hola and not much else. The series Narcos is helping me learn, everyone knows it, I sing the song and everything but I will keep that to myself!” Dembele told Barca TV during an interview.
Narcos is a well-known American series following the life of famous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. The series is broadcasted in Spanish.
Dembele added “since I've been with the French team, too, a lot of the players who play in La Liga put songs on in Spanish in the dressing room.”
Dembele mentioned his French teammates in Barcelona, Lucas Digne and Samuel Umtiti saying “I hope both Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne help me, with the language and everything, I have been talking to them for the last year-and-a-half, especially Samuel, he told me to pack my bags because I would soon be here with him!”
Barcelona signed Dembele from the German team Borussia Dortmund for $ 125 million.
