Qatari army soldiers punished for disobeying Iranian leaders

CAIRO – 30 August 2017: The former Qatari defense minister Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah was placed under strict surveillance in his home, and 31 army soldiers were forcibly referred to retirement as penalty for disobeying the current Iranian Leadership, Qatar Mubasher reported on Wednesday.

Earlier in August, another 62 Qatari police officers were detained after they turned down the orders to work under the Iranian forces stationed in the North Base.

Qatar’s cozy relationship with the extremist government of Iran figured into the Arab countries June decision to precipitate a diplomatic break-off with Doha.

Two months into the Arab boycott, along with the Iranian troops, Turkish troops were deployed to Doha, aiming at defending Qatar’s “vital facilities.”
