Taliban claims responsibility for explosion in Kabul

KABUL - 29 Aug 2017: The Taliban terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the recent Kabul explosion that took place close to the US embassy, local media were quoted by Sputnik news agency as saying on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, media reports said that a blast occurred around 10:00 a.m. local time in the diplomatic quarter of Kabul near the US embassy.

A US military spokesman said no US troops stationed in Afghanistan were injured in the explosion.

The death toll reached five, while eight others were injured.
