CAIRO - 28 – August 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Monday with Chairman of the Council of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Michael Myasnikovich to discuss means of fostering bilateral ties in all fields especially the parliament, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
The meeting also tackled a number of regional issues including the situation in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Iraq as well as Egypt’s efforts aiming at reviving the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations. They also discussed Egypt’s efforts to combat terrorism and illegal migration.
They also tackled the Qatari crisis and calls for halting its support to terrorist groups.
Meanwhile, Myasnikovich proposed to form an Egyptian-Belarus friendship association at the Belarus and Egyptian parliaments as well as boosting cooperation at the level of the cities and governorates especially in the sectors of youth, science, technology and education.
He said he is looking forward to visiting Egypt soon, hailing Egypt’s efforts to reach security and peace in the Middle East.
Earlier, Shoukry handed over a message from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
