CAIRO – 23 August 2017: Egyptian petroleum engineer Mohamed Mahmoud Abd Al Rahman was declared to get the young member outstanding service award by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) 2017, for the second following time.
The prize is supposed to be delivered to Abd Al Rahman in San Antonio, Texas next October according to his statements to Egypt today Tuesday.
The 30-years old engineer joined SPE branch at Suez Canal University where he studied and graduated 2007. He escalated in the association until he became the vice president in Egypt.
During 2015 he got his first award for his “outstanding service” under the age of 36, as he received it [the prize] in ceremonies held in Abu Dhabi, the UAE.
“To get the prize, you have to be nominated by one of your colleagues from the company you work for”, Abd Al Rahman told Egypt today. He added that during working, he finished about two research papers regarding the petroleum engineering in Egypt.
The young member outstanding service award is considered one of the international prizes given by the association that was originally established in 1957, annually to engineers from all around the world.
Abd Al Rahman said in his statements to Egypt Today that the petroleum sector in Egypt is considered to be one of the major economic sectors that helped the state to get through the past period, especially after the hard economic conditions the country has been through after the revolution of January 2011.
